We get many letters like these.....

When we found out that Zack had special needs, the myriad of emotions we felt were indescribable. We had no idea what to do or where to turn for help. However, all that changed when we found The Children’s Therapy Center. From the moment we walked into the Center, we knew that we had to do whatever we could to get Zack enrolled there. Needless to say, we were more than thrilled when we learned that there was an opening in the Early Enrichment Program.

The love and care that The Children’s Therapy Center has given to Zack is tremendous. Zack loves going to school – he has a smile from ear to ear when he sees that bus pull up to the house. It is very comforting to know that your child is safe and well cared for when he is at school. The hard work and dedication of the staff at the Center shows through Zack’s numerous accomplishments. When Zack first started at the Center he was only able to sit. Now he can ambulate in his gait trainer as well as scoot on his bottom to get to places independently. His motor, as well as his social skills, have developed greatly during his three years at the Center.

It is amazing to watch a child with special needs develop into his own little personality. A lot of this great development is because of the Center’s hard work and dedication. We are very grateful to The Children’s Therapy Center for the love and support they have given our entire family. The best thing a parent can ask is for your child to be happy. That’s exactly what Zack is – he is always HAPPY!

Zack’s Proud Parents

Dear Friends,

When I first found out that my daughter had a developmental disability, I was devastated.  I felt sad, scared and alone and I wasn’t sure what the road ahead held for us.  She was about one year old at the time and I was just coming to terms with the fact that there was no “cure” or “quick fix” for Jessica’s delays.  She had been receiving early intervention services through the state, which consisted of one session of physical therapy, one session of speech/feeding therapy, and one session of occupational therapy per week, all taking place in our home.  While these therapies were definitely helping Jessica, I knew that there must be something more I could do to help her grow, and learn.  Not to mention, how incredibly isolated we were.  I could not take Jessica to participate in any activities for “typical” children because Jessica couldn’t physically or cognitively do any of the things the other children were doing.

At the risk of sounding overly sentimental, my life changed completely when I learned about the Early Enrichment Program (EEP) at The Children’s Therapy Center.  From the very first phone call to the Center I knew that they could help us.  They listened to my concerns and suggested that I come in to see the programs and services they had to offer.  There are no words that could ever fully describe the feeling that I had when I brought Jessica there for school at 19 months of age.  I finally believed that I was doing everything that I could possibly do for her and that she was in the absolute best place she could be.

Without EEP, Jessica would have missed out on an incredible learning environment.  Without this program, she would have continued with her two hours of individual therapy at home through the state and upon turning three, she would have had her first school placement.  I could not even imagine her adjusting to preschool at 3 years of age without having the experience the she had.  During her time in EEP, Jessica learned to separate from mommy, she learned to sit and attend to a  task, she got used to being with other children, she played, she learned songs, and received attention, encouragement and love. Since the day she started at the Center I never felt that Jessica wasn’t getting all that she possibly could.  I will never have to look back and ask myself if we could have done more.

Jessica is now three and a half years old. I am extremely proud and thrilled to say that she is walking, she is beginning to talk and she is an “old pro” at going to school. I can absolutely say that Jessica received a foundation like no other and that she is doing as well as she is today because of the work of the phenomenal staff and programming at The Children’s Therapy Center.

With love and gratitude,

Allison, Jessica’s very proud Mommy
