The Children’s Therapy Center’s Early Enrichment Program (EEP) offers a group-based therapeutic and educational enrichment program for children ages 18-months to 3-years. EEP is designed for children who demonstrate various types of speech, physical or cognitive delays. We also work with children with congenital disabilities such as cerebral palsy, genetic and chromosomal disorders including Down syndrome and autistic spectrum disorders.
Each two hour EEP session is full of fun, creative, enriching activities designed to stimulate language skills and socialization. We incorporate oral language, sign language and picture symbols throughout the session. The children engage in circle time, songs, story time, playtime, arts and crafts, activities, music therapy, yoga, physical education, snack, computer activities and water/sand play.
Our facility is equipped with an adaptive playground, adaptive gymnasiums and more. We encourage socialization and teach communication skills in a small and personal group setting. We incorporate individualized therapeutic activities—swings, therapy balls, adapted tricycles and obstacle courses—suggested by the CTC’s therapeutic staff.
Our Professional Staff
There is a certified Special Education teacher and three Teaching Assistants for each class of 6 students. The Center also employs 3 Nurses and a Social Worker.
The Social Work Department is available to help parents through every stage of the educational process. The social worker can help parents navigate through the services available to families with children with disabilities. Parents’ workshops and information nights not only provide important information but help to connect parents with similar situations and experiences.
A Testimonial
One CTC mom said, “After our son’s diagnosis we kept waiting for some sort of instruction as to what to do next. The Children’s Therapy Center answered that question and more. Not only did the EEP program bring a level of focus to my son’s life but his big smile and laughter each day as we would pull up to the school is all the validation that I needed.”
